Jim Connell Dies

"RED FLAG" FLIES HALF-MAST.

JIM CONNELL, AUTHOR OF SONG, DIES. RECREATION WAS POACHING.
London, Sunday.
Mr. Jim Connell, author of "The Red Flag" and other Socialist songs and
poems died today.[Deceased's name appears in that compilation of diverse talent, "Who's Who."
Therein his biography reads:

"Secretary, Workmen's Legal Friendly Society. Born Killokyre, Crossakill,
County Meath; parents farmers. Married, one daughter. Education, "under
a hedge for a few weeks"". "Has been farmer, dock laborer, navvy, railwayman,
journalist, draper, lawyer (of a sort); and all the time a poacher.
Publications : "The Red Flag," and other Socialist songs and poems;
"The Confessions of Poacher," 'The Truth About the Game Laws,'
'Glasgow Municipal Enterprise,' 'The Horse, and How to Treat Him,'
